The New Balance 990v4 is an extremely popular shoe at this moment in time due to the current chunky sneaker trend. To celebrate St Patrick’s Day, which occurs later on this month, New Balance has decked the popular runner out in traditional Irish green.
As previously mentioned, much of New Balance’s recent success has been due to the current trend of the “dad shoe”. The 990 silhouette has been around for years, however its popularity has never peaked quite as it has now. With St. Patrick’s Day taking place on the 17th March, there’s no doubt a few more sneakers dedicated to the event will launch soon, however New Balance seem to be the first year, decorating the 990v4 in traditional green, with the addition of that classic four leafed clover.
Of course, the main attraction here is the striking colourway, which I’m sure will appeal to many others than just the Irish amongst us. On the rear of the sneakers, embroidered just below the heel is the traditional Irish four leaf clover, which really gives the pair a patriotic feel. All the usual New Balance technology you’d expect is present here, including ENCAP underfoot and 3M detailing across the high quality suede upper.
If you’re planning to pick a pair of these beauties up, the good news is that they’re available now via select New Balance retailers, however they won’t be around forever, so if you want a pair we’d move fast.
